I have just installed a new DeWitts alloy Radiator in my 60 Corvette.
It's not a top tank, just a normal 230 hp style 58-60 radiator.
I had it sent to Australia and it come without a cap. I want to run a 13 psi cap. Now I went to the local Auto shop and they only sell CPC radiator caps which I'm sure you get in the U.S. I find it really hard to get it on the radiator and feel like it's almost doing damage getting it on and off. It fit's my original radiator perfect but not the new one. I also had a lower pressure cap around 7 psi and that fits perfect on the new one but is to low in pressure. It has no markings except that it says it's made in Mexico and has a 6 on it, no brand, it has 4 nipples on the side to turn it. Looks more like the old pressure type over flow cap.
What brand of cap should fit on this radiator. I tried to email DeWitts but never got a response.
If your reading this thread Mr DeWitts can you please respond.
