      Michael...
If you placed shims in the original positions found during the body lift, and the body was well supported during painting (etc), you should fit the doors witout jack stands. If you find that the door gaps are to wide for the door to fit properly, then you look at the shims. the gap at the rear of the door (latch-striker side) may be closed by adding shims under the rear body mount bolts.. the front door gap may be closed by adding shims under the radiator support. Lifting the frame is not needed to add these shims in most cases. Door ajustments usually work well without the need to shim on Bodys that are will supported (front and rear) and do not sit on the dolly for ages.

The jack stands need to be under the axle or the car needs to be on it's wheels.

weight is on wheels, all shims under cockpit even measurements to floor all within 1/16" if I raise up on rear clip door gap front and back not quit 2 paint stirrer sticks 1/4" only concern is if I shimmed it at back crossmember it will take about 1+" shims should I just do that and let it go it seems like alot to me thanks mike

I would have delt with this before paint but you need to have all the door gaps even all the way around.

I apparently missed something between pre-fitting doors and paint sense I have found the need to ask ncrs members for advice. But I do appreciate you letting me know when you would have addressed this problem that has been of great use to me thanks mike
