    Car Corral at Winter Meet

    Just checking here along with E-Mails I've sent to see if anyone knows whether they will have a Corvette Corral at the winter meet. My son and I will take his car over and we will need a second car. If I knew there was to be a Corvette Corral, I'd drive my 63 Vette over, but I don't want to leave it in general public parking.

    Stuart, It may be too late, but if you sign up the 63 for "Sportsman" class you can usually park on the grounds, & still be able to remove the car, if it is your only transportation. Plus you get a certificateBarry Holmes #940

      There is quite a large car corral at the winter meet. I don't know if it is to late to sign up or not! I do believe that you will be able to sign up at the gate though.I believe it cost me $40.00 last year. Good luck ! See you there Tom Stanton

        John and Tom;

        I got a response to my E-Mail to Tyler Townsend regarding the Car Corral. That which I refer to as a Car Corral, is listed on the Registration Form (found on line or in the Driveline) as being a car "For Sale Corral". It is an enclosed area with limited space which is paid for at the gate.

        What I described to him was my interest in reserved parking spaces for "Driven" Corvettes only - not show or sportsman, and is commonly referred to as a "Corvette Corral". That, he said, would be available on Saturday the 24th only, and would be free, to include all the available parking on Old Town property (on a first come first served basis, and then closed off when full).

        I assume, as in years past, Old Town will still have their Saturday Night Cruise there as well in the East Side parking lot next to the amusement park. They may have that area roped off until around noon when they open it for the cruisers to park. Therefore, that area may not be open for Corvette parking until around noon as well, i.e., if one wanted to stay on for the cruise, you may want to move your car over to that area around noon or whenever you see they have opened it up.

        As for me, I will probably drive my Vette there early on Saturday to get into the on site parking. Whether I stay for the cruise or not will depend on my son. He may want me to escort him and his 78 P.C. home, which is good as it means I will have to drive slower, Ha!
