C3 temperature gauge

Just had my car judged for the 1st time this weekend and what an awesome experience. I did find out that my car, 72 350 no AC, had the wrong temp gauge. It reads 100, 200 and 280 instead of 100, 210, 250. My question is what is the wrong gauge from? Same font lettering, color and look. I bought the car with 53K mileage and know that these gauges are not replaced that often. Any ideas?

Courtesy Dr. Rebuild, this nice catalog page shows the face details of various Shark era gauges in side-by-side, by year layout. Your temp gauge with 100/200/280 gradicules could be from 74-78, depending on the specifics of the artwork on the face.

Thanks Jack. It looks to be the 74 to 76 gauge. That is pretty weird, course it probably won't be the last weird thing I find.

It's not so unusual. Since 1974, the 1974 gauge was the SERVICE gauge for all 68-73. So, if the car had its gauge replaced at any time from 1974 until the gauge was discontinued, it would have received the 1974 gauge, assuming a new gauge was purchased from GM.
