Although this should be tied in with my other post on the non typical baseplate I thought I would make this info separate to attract more attention and so that more of you can learn what the scoop is on the real deal. Go on to ebay and look at
190207991275. If the seller is an NCRS member someone may want to contact him.
It's advertised as a NOS 57 to 65 base plate or intake for NCRS show.
It is in fact an old repro made from "borrowed" molds from Winters foundry. Notice the built in distributor spacer and the lack of a casting number. Also notice the shape of the ports-where the FI unit bolts onto it. NOT typical. Service replacement or SR.
These replacement baseplates have been in the fleas for years. Tons of these were made outside of GM. I can remember at the Corvette Expo in Knoxville say 10-15 years ago there were stacks of these babies for sell by an old friend of mine. I was offered them cheap but passed as you NCRS boys would dull your pencil if they were used on a show car.
Now the one with the double casting dates I mentioned below is the real deal Jorjorian and not like this nice anchor. JD
