This is the 1957 Nassau/Daytona/Sebring factory race car that introduced fuel injection to Corvette racing. During the Feb.1957 Daytona Speedweeks on the Beach the first ever NASCAR Sports Car race was held at the near by New Smyrna airport.
Paul Goldsmith drove the #9 Corvette to first in class and 4th overall with Carroll Shelby taking 1st in a Ferrari.
