Now Roy, you are trying to trick us into revealing how old we are.

I was in high school 55 to 57.

        Roy,

I didn't live in California, I grew up in the Missouri Ozarks, so I did not get to personally see those cars and events. But I read all the car magazines I could find and dreamed of owning cars like that. That had to wait until later.

The girls look like the ones I went to school with.

On the way to the hardware store yesterday spotted a '54 BelAire in the parking lot. Baby Blue, white tuck and roll, frenched headlights, taillights and two antennaes. Cruiser skirts,Fiesta hubcaps,Desoto bumpers and '50 Desoto grill. My 21 year old son thought I lost my mind. Was built in early '60s. Great video.

My favorite from these clips was the gullwing with the wild paint job. Not something you would probably see in a car show these days.

Too bad about the Kopper Kart

It had a lifespan of maybe a year or less. It was destroyed.

The purple Buick with the big flappy wings on it was on the cover of Car Craft, I think in '58. Was it the Purple People Eater? The Gull Wing car was in a car magazine. None of the rest did I recognize.

Cool Breeze that jumped out of his '49-'50 Ford coupe and grabbed the blonde with the white prom dress around the neck is female testimonial that "no" means "yes".

I was looking for a girl with a pony tail and a string of pop beads around her neck. Guess they didn't have them in California. I started to high school in Fall of '57.
