I'll be off the air here until the middle of March. We've got 24 Rocky Mountain Chapter members getting ready to head down under and I shove off in about three hours.
The boogie is fly to Sydney, Australia. Get picked up by the local NCRS folks. They spot us daily driver cars/truck for their road trip and stop periodically to switch driving responsibilities (read that as EVERYONE gets to drive a Corvette down under).
Road tour runs from Sydney, past the capitol, Canberra, and up into the hills of Australia's wine country for an overnight. Then, down out of the hills to Melbourne on the southern coast.
Pack the cars onto a ferry and sail out into the Anarctic for the overnight trip to the island of Tasmania. Tour 'Tassy' for two days arriving at the southernmost tip (Hobart) and execute Chapter Meet judging for three days with NCRS folks from New Zealand coming over to help + learn.
On the return from Tasmania, about half of us 'bail' out and fly across the Tasman Sea to the wine country of New Zealand to pitch in and help the New Zealand chapter execute its first Flight Judging meet. Should be a real hoot without the Big Dipper visible and the Southern Cross ablaze in the night sky!
For those of you who contribute regularly on the DB, remember it's a big world with Corvette enthusiasts located OUTSIDE North America.... Think about setting aside some time/$$$ to reach out and come 'play' with your fellow NCRS members abroad. You'll NEVER regret it!!!!
