    Great time at Texas regional

Had a great time last week at the TX regional in Frisco. After a nearly 20 year frame off restoration journey with an enormous amount of help from the members of this forum I was able to achieve Top Flight the first time out with my 69 L46. Many thanks to all those that helped me along the way and to all the members who volunteered to make the meet such a success. What a great organization NCRS is!

          Mike,

It was great finally seeing the car on the judging field. I'm sure many will agree, following all your posts on this forum, then seeing the outcome was a treat. I probably told 20 people how great your car looked on the judging field. I tend to gravitate towards black cars so your car really caught my eye.

Congratulations, I hope we get to see it being judged again in the future.

          Joe

            Hello Michael,
What a pleasure to see the photos of your car!!
            It's a real beauty.
It certainly looks like a Top Flight car!!!
I'd enjoy seeing what's under the hood....
            Regards,
            Alan

Michael, it was good to see you, your family, and your beautiful car. It deserves mentioning that you drove that car from San Antonio to Frisco, Texas for the event. That's over a 250 mile trip, much of it in the dark.

              Thank you for attending.

                Mike,
Such a beautiful car and well deserved Top Flight Award after your many years of diligent work! Well done, indeed. So, just PV that baby next year and then head to French Lick in 2027 for your Duntov! You will not be disappointed.

                Best of luck to you!
                Terry

Jeez this Top Flight was so stressful just thinking about PV is giving me chest pain lol! Yes Tim the trip up there was crazy! Windows down in the right lane of I35 doing 60 MPH having semis screen past me and sucking on all that diesel exhaust! Totally insane! But thanks again to you and all the NCRS judges that made this such a fantastic event!

Mike, if your goal is a Duntov, make sure you have a backup plan for your PV. That is, make sure there is another regional you can go to in case your first try is a fail. Anyway, that comes from my experience. Nevertheless, you will find the entire process to be extremely rewarding (if not challenging 😬).

PV is not for the faint of heart, and really requires a full understanding and appreciation of what you are undertaking and the level of perfection required to achieve as a gut check. Good luck if you try it.
