    C2 Hardtop Weatherstrip and "Goop"

PXL_20251027_230307451.jpg PXL_20251027_230307451.jpg I've been cleaning the weatherstrip on my Hardtop. How much of this extra sealant is factory? Thanks in advance.

Stephen - My 66 Roadster originally came with both tops but the previous owner sold off the Aux Hardtop when he relocated from New Jersey to Florida. I found a replacement top in SoCal and it had been on a 65 but apparently was originally on a 67 and it still had it's Black Vinyl covering. It had a lot of caulking on it as you'll see in the pics. The rear window was still the badly scratched 67 original and other than someone 'rattle-canning' the badly deteriorated headliner, it doesn't look like anything was every freshened up so my guess, and that's all it is...is that this was factory..caulking/sealant and all.

It is a glass bedding compound which 3M made for years and discontinued maybe 3-5 years ago.
