63 Convertible Windshield

I developed a bit of a leak on the 63 convertible around the windshield. I ordered part W541 from Corvette Rubber (windshield gasket). I'm sure I will break some of the trim clips. In the past Paragon was touted as having the best clips. With the parts houses consolidating who now has the best clips? Is it Corvette Central? Harry I may have some Long Island clips, left overs. I will look for you if you want.

When I replaced the windshield on my 63 I noticed that the gasket does not seal well around the bird cage. Especially in the upper and lower corners. If you install a new gasket it still won’t be waterproof. The old window had some kind of white putty fill around the gasket and I think the putty is what prevents water from entering the car. You may want to remove the molding and install putty and leave the old windshield and gasket as is. All old Corvettes leak and probably leaked when new.
