Working on finishing off my hardtop on my 66 Trophy Blue roadster and have run into a bit of an issue with the paint on the interior trim. I want to repaint them and was planning to use the Dark Blue paint from Corvette America that I used on the dash and interior windshield trim pieces a few years ago.
However when you look at what appears to be original paint on the hardtop trim, it is a metallic. I checked the Judging Manual and it says, "Trim moldings are stamped sheet metal painted full gloss, unpolished , to match the interior trim color....", no mention of metallic. So my first question is, should these pieces be painted with a metallic paint?
Next is with regards to finding or mixing the correct color, with or without metallic. My thought was to try and have someone mix colors that match the old offerings from Ditzler and Dupont, hoping there are cross reference for how to mix the shades and get somewhat close. I have pages from the Ditzler and DuPont guides to their offerings for 66 interiors and they are a little confusing.

- Ditzler's color guide for GM interiors shows 3 different shades of blue for Corvettes: Medium Bright Blue Poly (code 13223), Dark Bright Blue Poly (code 13228) and Dark Blue (code 13241).
- The DuPont guide shows 2 different shades of blue: Dark Bright Blue (code 9282-LH) and Dark Teal Blue (code 9283).
- I've already ruled out the Medium Bright Blue Poly color from Ditzler as far too light. So I'm looking for confirmation as to which of the remaining codes would be correct for the interior hardtop trim pieces.
