Front Bumper Brackets
I'm installing the front bumpers on my '61, The front main & outer brackets pose a problem to me. I slide them together and line up the open bolt hole & the one that's threaded where they meet. At that point, the narrow endof the front outer curls up and separates from the front main. The separation is enough to slide your finger in.
The photos show a piece of foam about 1/2" thick in that space. There is a hole behind the foam that lines up
with the Main bracket.
The holes in the outer and main appear to line up. SG 11-5 is not real clear if a bolt goes thru them. If not, why are there holes drilled? My AIM Section page is almost blank. At first I thought the outer was bent at the end,
not so on 2 different ones.
Before I get doing what I usually do, put it together and take back apart, I would appreciate what gives here. Thanks, Jim
