Based on the survey results from the NCRS membership who responded to the May 15th Concours name survey, and after receiving responses from 2,374 NCRS members of the 10,000 members polled, here are the final results from the survey rounded to whole numbers:
Question 1: Name of the Program:
Concours: 52%
Corvette Legends: 19%
All-American Sports Car: 9%
Other: 9%
Specialty: 4%
Classic Glass: 2%
Mary Barra: 1%
Question 2: Name of the class for modified/customized/personalized Corvettes:
Modified: 69%
Customized: 11%
Resto-Mod: 9%
Personalized: 8%
Other: 1%
Resto-Rod: .5%
Question 3: Name of the class for unmodified Corvettes:
Stock: 78.0%
Non-modified: 13%
Street Stock: 5%
Other: 3%
From a naming standpoint, the survey reflects memberships' name preferences. As for the choice of "Other", those that selected "Other" expressed that they did not care for any of the name offerings. However, in each of the three survey questions, the choice of "Other" was clearly in the minority: 9%, 1% and 3% respectively.
Membership has now expressed its preferences as for names. Now it is up to Joe Scafidi and his trusted team to make the final decision regarding the program content. Ultimately, neither the Board nor the NJO has made any final decision regarding these naming issues, but at least now you know the membership's preferences.
