When I restored my car I had the body off but left the headlight actuators and headlights in place they worked fine so I left them. When I open my hood I always regret not replating the actuators, they still work good but I was having work done on my hood so I bought a pair on eBay was going to put them in and send originals out to be redone. Problem is the tubes are a tick bigger on new ones. Did I get the wrong ones or is there a trick to install the bigger tube version

The headlight actuators you bought are repos and all repos use the large size tubes. Only '68 and '69 used the smaller size tubes. If you look at the bend on the curved tube on the repo you will see that it is shorter than your original. I would not mount he repos only because it may stretch out the rubber vaccuum hose to the point it will not seal on your original actuators later.

That is exactly was I was thinking. I am paying the price for being stupid, I should have done these when car was apart. Does this look like an original ? If not I might just as well mount the reprosYou do not have permission to view this gallery.
