Yes, many of us judges do the same. We do this to save the room. Many times there are no cars to judge, so we do not attend and cancel the room. It expensive for the registration, hotel and flights, then get to the Regional and have nothing to do. It is good to have the cars registered for the event (Regional and National) listed on the tech. board, so we can make an earlier decision about attending.

Thanks Michael, Gary and Harry for your kind reply. I guess I never realized that this was something that was going on. I'm sure it makes everyone in the host chapter go thru more stress than needed. Not a game I play personally but I'm no longer having cars judged I just judge cars these days.
I went ahead and registered at the Tru Hilton Hotel.
Have a great week gents!

Michael;
Although I have a room booked at the Tru hotel, I'd prefer to stay at the University Plaza. When I went onto the NCRS site, rooms were available July 16 thru Friday July 18 but I would have to check out on Saturday. I want to check out on Sunday.
While this is an improvement from the last time I checked (at that time there was NOTHING available), it's peculiar in that now, if I go online without using the NCRS website there are rooms available July 16-19 with a July 20 check out (with a higher price). Is there anyone with the local NCRS Chapter that you could recommend that I speak to in order to resolve this issue?
Thanks much!

I would book the July 16-18 thru the NCRS link to get the cheaper room rate at the Host Hotel. Then I would book the 19th on line and pay the higher price. Sorry but our hands are tied. Hopefully you might find a cancelation for the 19th. I would also call you might have better luck that way.

David, On behalf of the committee, please accept my apology for your inconvenience. As I posted earlier, the fact of the matter is that over a year ago when we began this adventure we were studying the attendnace at regional events and too conservatively estimated the size of the room block because in negotiating teh cost of the expo center we had to guarantee the rooms as well as all of our food and beverage costs. We were able to add some additional rooms at the University Plaza but they have another event booked the same week and could not expand the block. We were able to claw back some rooms from folks who booked multiple rooms and those have been since used. Lesson learned!
If more rooms become available I will reach out to you and try to hook you up. Feel free to reach out to me personally is I can be of assiatance.

Thanks for the nudge Jerome. I've been busy traveling lately, but as of today we have 33 cars registered, including 18 for Flight judging. A '57 had to withdrawal. To date, we have 90 registrations for 130 members and guests, ninety-one of which plan to attend the welcome reception and 49 the awards banquet.
Flight: '58-'60 1, '61-'62 2, '65 2, '66 2, '67 4, '68-'69 1, '70-'72 2, '90-'91 1, '92-93 1, '00-'02 1, '03-'04 1, TOTAL 18
PV: '56-'57 1, '63 1, '64 2, '65 1, '67 1, '94-'96 1, '03-'04 1, TOTAL 8
Concours: '94-'96 1
Sportsman: 6
We've mapped the judging floor for 77 cars so we have room for anyone wanting to register a car. We also have some vendor space available inside the expo center judging floor.
It is three months until the event and Chapter judging events are in full swing. KC had a Chapter judging event this past weekend, and St. Louis has two over the next seven weeks, so we are confident that we will more than double the number of Flight cars over the next eight weeks. In fact, Friday we signed a contract with the venue to host a repeat Regional event in April 2026, which the NCRS National Board of Directors approved last month. And, with plenty of hotel rooms blocked on site for that one!
Thanks,
John

May 6, 2025. Here's the updated registrations for Flight, PV and Concours cars for the upcoming Missouri "Show-Me" regional July 16-19. Since Arizona, the registrations have continued to come in. If you have not registered, you should. The Team Leaders and judges need updated car counts:
Flight:
53(1), 58(1), 61(1), 62(1), 63(3), 65(3), 66(2), 67(7), 69(1), 71(1), 72(1), 90(1), 93(1), 00(1), 03(1), 07(1).
PV:
57(1), 63(1), 64(2), 65(1), 67(3), 95(1).
Concours: 67(1), 96(1)
That's 39 cars not counting the special display cars or Sportsman cars.

Three weeks left until registration closes June 15 and we are at 142 registrations with 58 cars and "promises" of more. We could use some 73-89 judged cars and know of two planning to register.

PV (11): '57(1), '64(2), '65(2), '67BB (4), '95(1), '04(1)
Concours (3): '65(1), '67(1), '96(1)
We also have two display cars, one of which is a 2010 ZR1 for beta judging, along with nine Sportsman cars.

As of May 30th, we have 38 Flight cars, 12 PV cars, 3 Concours cars, 1 Bowtie signoff, and several special display cars. This is shaping to be a very nice regional. Registration ends June 15th. We still have room for more cars! It is a beautiful facility. TonyRegion VII Director (serving members in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas).
