    I think it's this product.

Dave S may have researched this too.

      Rich,

Thanks Rich. Based on your Dipseal tip, I searched the archives and found a 2009 posting by Greg Thompson in which he said:

dipseal DS-250 Amber. It is a similar product to that above. Go to c2powerantenna.com to see pictures. Besure to plug your bolt hole and drain hole or it will fill into the housing. I've seen originals with this condition.

Next chance I get I'll measure the cable here and see if something matches.

Then find a US distributor who may be able to get them. I have no clue what it would cost.

                  Rich,
Incredible that I went searcing for 120392 and this came up. Some of us are looking at this and, well maybe the 120392 aws the number of threads you posted!

Did you find anything on the wire?

End results on the mast, frozen up means trash?

I'm thinking Greg was getting the mast from CC and adapting to the fitting, but then, he had buckets full or originals when at his place back when.

Ron, Why did 120392 show this thread? I tried it myself and yes, it lists this thread. No where in the thread does that search string show up. However, it may be looking at the links and their source files characters. Or, it may be a bug in the vBulletin s/w. I have no idea.

On the helical cable(wire)..... Yes, the supplier in Italy(see post #35), finally got back to a friend of a friend who was over there on holiday. I don't have the exact word on how it all progressed, but we got some information. They said they could make them, but the initial order would have to be 1,000 Meters in length. That's about 3,300 feet. The cable in these antennas is just under 4 feet, which would yield about 824 antenna lengths. Cost was not discussed at that time so that would come up when a quote is generated. Plus factors of monetary exchange rates and shipping.

FYI, word is that the supplier of the cables that Greg used has gone out of business. We do not know who that supplier was, or if the equipment/machine that was used still exists or if it has been scrapped. We will likely never know.

Of the several antennas I've worked on, IIRC five of them, I was able to free up only 3. One of those three had a bad cable once I took it apart.

Also, yes, allegedly Greg was using the CC mast and adding his cables to them.

I will not be able to do any work on this for a few months as I've been tied up with other things.

                      Rich,
Not surprising on the cable situation.
Worse news is after you purchase 3300 feet of cable you still have to buy the entire antenna mast and connect the two pieces.
                      Quite an undertaking

I have pieces of original cables, but they are 1500 miles from my hands.
