Hi all. Just a question about weather stripping glue around 1963 Coupe doors. Does the "may appear excessive in application" of glue show around the entire perimeter of the door weather stripping? I have only seen pictures of the bottom and rear of the door, but never of the top or front and just wondering if someone could please post a few pictures or offer some advice. Checked old threads and there are some pictures, but not what I am looking for. Thanks.

Many people who have seen this think it is on the extreme end of the "excessive application" spectrum.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Chug a six-pack. That 'ill get your arm sufficiently "lubricated" to replicate factory glue application methods.

Yes, it certainly has aged, but the TIM&JGs all mention the adhesive used to apply the weatherstripping was yellow or yellowish brown in color.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: 1963 Coupe Weather Stripping Glue Excessive Application
Well........being around these cars for 50 years and talking to many former St Louis workers I'd have to say I disagree.
I don't think a new car buyer would ever be pleased to see that mess. Would you?
Over time it turned dark, so every car a person sees today shows dark.
I think some take that to mean it was dark from day one which it wasn't.- Top

Michael , what I did on my 63 was mix a little brown paint in with the yellow adhesive mix it up and you get the perfect yellowish brown that looks aged.- Top
