Delco Stereo Radio, Speakers in Dash Replacemnt

On my '73, I need to replace the original headlight switch. In doing that, the dash needs to be undone/removed to access the switch. Since I will be doing that, I should probably replace the original pair of radio speakers that don't sound all that good. Therefore, I will need to buy replacement speakers that are 4"x6", 8 ohm, about 40 watts, and like 92db sensitivity. Any recommendations as to the best Brand and where can I buy them? Looking for quality good sounding in-dash speakers.

The original speakers are 10 OHM. You can get by using 8 OHM speakers, though. As a matter of fact, to get a really high quality speaker you will need to go 8 OHM as there are no high quality 10 OHM speakers I know of. However, to be honest, if it were me, I'd seek out reproduction 10 OHM speakers and live with their sound quality.

Here are the reproduction 10-ohm speakers. Call them to buy two; otherwise, most catalog companies also stock them.

The least expensive and probably best option is to have your originals reconed. Blackie's in Grand Rapids near me does it for many people I know (http://www.blackiestv.com) at around $25 per speaker. You may have a local source that would do it as well.
