Would you gents that have a hardtop for your 66 convertible answer a question for me? If your placing your hardtop on the car, and have lowered it into place but not yet fastened the clasps at the windshield frame or installed the bolts behind the seats or in the decklid, does the weatherstrip on the top contact the body all the way around? Or is their a slight "gap" behind the side windows that does not close until you tighten the bolts at the rear bow?
I'm restoring a hardtop I bought about 40 years ago to use on my 66 project. The car it came off of had been hit hard on the front, bowing the top slightly. I can straighten it and repair the fiberglass no problem, but I need to know when to stop to get a good fit.
Thanks!!!
