I am asking for some technical computer stuff info. I am preparing my 2007 LT3, Z51 @ J55 base engine machine. The RPO's included Heads up display, Nav, XM radio, voice operations of the audio and Nav systems. My question is, what are the chances of the loss of some of these functions when, by NCRS and some fire standards a battery cut off switch is used for judging. The most critical loss would be that of the Nav system.

Re: C-6 @ battery cut off devise
Ed,
As I recall, if you disconnect the battery and then re-connect the battery, you may notice the clock not working. If you find this is the case, there is an update that will need to be downloaded into the car computer to get it back. The download is done through via CD. Once you update the computer, the clock will show following any situation where the power is disconnected and then reconnected. Just an FYI.

The clock issue cured itself on my 2008 a year or two ago. Works fine now. Anyone want a stack of blank CDs?Terry- Top

Re: C-6 @ battery cut off devise
Ed,
There are battery disconnects by a fused by pass circuit to keep the electronics working, but can't start the car.

Re: C-6 @ battery cut off devise
Thanks to all, I will find that type of disconnect you mentioned Gary, how many seconds to I have between the disconnect and the connect moment, I remember my engineering class in the USAF, the product moves at 186,000 MPS, at my age I don't believe my arms can move that fast. I'll call my 15-year-old grandson to preform that part of the magic. Up and onward.- Top

Re: C-6 @ battery cut off devise
Figured I'd reopen this as many of us will start the C6 Judging after French Lick. I looked at JEGS part 10321. A disconnect with the infamous green knob and a 15amp bypass to keep the computer hot. I hate that knob as I've had three fail in the past.
Has anyone seen a similar setup with a guillotine blade?
Thanks all
