I have long arms, and with the muffler out of the way, I have disconnected separator/rollover valve, replaced hoses, and reconnected without dropping carrier or tank. Some done by sight, some by feel.

I too have long arms and have been able to do it without removing the gas tank or moving the muffler. I did however have gas running down my arm--not too pleasant.
