Difference between 1963 and 1964 Radio

I have a late (June) 1963 Split Window that I am restoring. The radio is an AM-FM and is the original. There is a trim ring that attaches to the front console of the car is in good condition. I can get the internals of the radio restored. However, the faceplate and the buttons are tarnished pretty badly. I would like to get them re-chromed. However, in the event that they are not restorable, can I buy a 64 radio and use the pushbuttons and radio cover?

I guess I'm asking if the 63 and 64 AM-FM Radios are the same in the cosmetic respects?

Stuart, the corvette venders sell a kit to replace those items, I cannot say just how good the repro parts are but maybe someone here on TDB can comment.

Corvette Central has a kit that will give you all the things you need for a good restoration. You might want to seek the help of one of the Corvette Radio repair people. It is not a cake walk!
