    1967 seat back wire connection

Well every time I turn around I have another question. We are putting a new interior in the 67. In reupholstering the upper back a wire that releases the seat came off while cleaning and painting. I am not sure exactly how it goes on, but no matter how I put it on it falls off. Is there a clip that goes on it? Is it broken? What is it called? Where can I get another?

    Please help! Wire_Broken_Question.jpg

    Thank you in advance!

    God bless!

Could the end of the rod be broken off? Do you have the other seat apart to look at the rod and how it is installed?

      Stephen,

      Thanks!

I am not sure so I used a lock washer type lock on it. I think it will work.

      God bless!

Sorry I posted the same picture 3 times. Anyway I just took this a few weeks ago of my 67 seat back as I was disassembling my seats. A little rusty but I hope it helps.

It appears to have a groove on the end. A "hairpin" clip like is found on carb linkage might work.... possibly rusted off over the years. I'll post a photo later.

Attached is a photo of a potential clip for this application. Typically found on carb linkages......

                  Thank you Stephen and Tom,

I think the clip must have been gone.
This is the clip I came up with and I put 2 on it. Although I love the car it will never be Bloomington Gold, so they will work.

                  Thank you again!

                  God bless!
