Hardtop hold down sleeve on rear deck
On the 56/57 the hardtop is attached to the rear deck at 3 places using a bolt that threads into a sleeve. Please refer to the attached pictures for the location of the sleeve. It is part number 3727928 as shown in the Corvette Assembly Instruction Manual, R.P.O. 419, sheet 1.00 view A. (copy attached). There is no mention of this sleeve in the TIMJG for 1956 - 1957.
1) Should this sleeve be chrome plated or highly polished stainless steel?
2) Should this sleeve have a higher profile (1/8) or a lower profile (1/16)?
