I guess there are a few of us. My 66 earned a Duntov award with a motor that has a vin that is off by 8 cars. Strongly suggest you do not alter the original pad.

I don't think its illegal, my car was regionally judged in Lakeland in 2016 alongside a '67 BB convertible restored by a well-known restorer and member here. The car was a restamp and got an 88 point deduction but still managed a Top Flight...

Personally, I wouldn't do it, aside from the ethical aspects, if the shop screws it up, it will be worse than no stamp at all -- and we've all seen our share of bad restamps.
