Here are pictures - sorry about their size - of my original and the latest repop speedometer cable for a 1967 with 4 speed trans. I may fit all 67 Corvette transmissions, I don't know.
The repop is positioned above the original. It is about 71.25" tip to tip of the cable and it appears to stick out of the housing about 1/2". I say appears because the is only when the cable is straight, put a bend or two in the assembly and the cable retreats back into the sheath. I kept my finger on the speedometer end to prevent it from being pushed out. When it retreats, it is no longer still inserted in the nylon drive gear at the transmission. The repop inner wound steel cable is the same diameter( 0.125") as the original.
The original cable is about 67 3/8" long tip to tip and it sticks out about 1". It does NOT retreat whether the assembly is straight or has a few bends as found when installed.
