Re: Tank sticker
I was able to feel my 93 sticker by running my hand up between the rear bumper cover and the tire carrier. I removed the inboard passenger tail light and was able to see it. I may have removed the tire carrier. I never did remove it as the tank straps were not budging. The passenger side strap was over the sticker .- Top

Re: Tank sticker
Gary's right, best to order the copy from the museum. Modern Corvettes like yours have tons of paperwork that the factory saved, it's only the vintage Corvettes that don't have any options but to find the original, with lots of effort.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Tank sticker
My '81 that was built in BG has the VIN number on it. I suspect they started putting them on all cars built in BG, but probably not any St. Louis cars.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Tank sticker
My 1980 build sheet does have a VIN. I think Thomas Russo's "Corvette Buildsheet Book" - 1973-82 (2013) shows partial VIN (last 5 numbers) typed on at least in 1973.

Re: Tank sticker
Also know that the use of the term "tank sticker" was used by "enthusiasts" not familiar with the term the factory used or manifest. It was later called build sheet as we learned that it documented build options. I called the 1973-82 the GMAD manifest, recognizing that the General Motors Assembly Division began to take over GM assembly plants in the mid-1960s with the St Louis assembly plant coming into the fold in the early 1970s. Thus the GMAD landscape style manifest was first used in 1973.Tom Russo

Re: Tank sticker
Key codes and VIN are in reverse bleed through on my last day of 71 production 21783 - It's the same on earlier cars back to around # 15000 if I am not mistaken.
