The two inboard rectangular brackets that go under the car are riveted to the body. The two outboard rectangular brackets are not riveted to the body.

You need four of these for under the body. The LIC Catalog section 16 has some good pictures.

Harry, Wonder why the two inboard are riveted and the two outboard are not?

Kenneth, the guy on the line could not reach the inboard and hold it when installing the brackets on the floor interior. He could reach the one by the sill. Just a way for GM to save a penny by not having the bodyshop river all 4.

Richard, This is great. This really helps alot.
Is the carpet cut to expose the rectangler plate that's on the raw fiberglass like in Joe Ray's picture in the post above or a slit cut and the plate slid id...It may need to cut out to allow the rear tapered bracket to slid into the "U" shaped bracket. Is there a reinforcing bracket under the car on the front?

Just want to thank you for the time you've put in to help me!!

Kenneth, do you have the 1963 Assembly Manual (AIM) or the shop manual? If not I suggest you acquire both of them. They will answer 99% of you questions about parts, fit, torque, etc.

Yes, You can't set the seat without them and they are riveted to the body.

For the bracket that is not riveted to the body I just used a piece of 1/4 X 1-1/4 flat bar and drilled and taped the two holes. Then painted them black.
Got to be as close to correct as many of the reproductions, if they exist.
I got the bolt hole centers off the brackets.
Worked out great. I believe the flat bar can be purchased at Lowe's or Home depot if needed.
