    Is This A Real Fuelie?

I know zilch about fuel injected C2's. Not in the market. Just wonder if our resident experts can tell from the pictures.

The information that I have listing a large number of 65 FI cars includes this one. It is possible that self reports could be bogus but this was listed as a real fuelie for some time. My list says it was blue rather than green however for what that's worth. If I were still in the market I would certainly check it out. Seems cheap price from my perspective.

Hi Keith. As I mentioned, I'm not in the market. Obviously there is much expertise here, and I was just curious if someone could point to something definitive that shows it isn't a real fuelie. There may be a forum policy against criticizing cars that are currently for sale. It did seem cheap if it's what it's advertised to be. Thanks.

          Rick.

            Rick
That is the same car that was listed on the Corvette forum for over a year. It was owned by a man that has a couple of other C2s (one I believe is a high NCRS scoring 63 SW) in N.M. I considered buying the car and made an offer on it pending my personal inspection. The man was very honest in his belief that it may have been a re-stamp although from the pictures of the stamp pad I could not detect it. It's price started out higher but was lowered and when I was considering it it was priced at $62K and I offered $56K. I believe he sold it to this dealer for $59K.
            EDIT:
If I remember correctly the air cleaner was only partially original and I think the "S" tube was a fiberglass reproduction.

Ron, I'm not familiar with the car. I simply saw it on ebay and posted the link. Perhaps Darryl Dayton knows.

                  Rick.

In speaking with the man that owned it prior to this dealer, he told me that he actually owned the car twice. He had sold to a friend and then bought it back. The car prior to their ownership had come from I believe somewhere in Kansas or thereabouts I don’t really remember exactly where but I don’t believe It was in either California or Massachusetts. In fact if I recall correctly it was sold new according to the NCRS report in Michigan.

As a former chairman of the Pittsburgh chapter ( 4-1/2 times or so) I can tell you that I got a ton of calls and emails asking if a chapter member would go check out a Corvette.
That's scary friends. If I was sending major bucks I would hire a qualified appraiser to look at the car.
#2. I wouldn't buy a fuel injection car unless I hired a appraiser and also had a lot a lot of my buddies check it out.
People try and BS me all the time/often that the unit they sent me to restorer is the real deal for their original fuel car. Will stop right there. John
