58 wiper switch fitting into dash housing

58 wiper switch / bowden cable. Have original one, lubed and works easy, I notice the cable was always bent at the switch housing. I am putting it back in the dash but looks like I have to force it to have the flat horizontal so the wiper plastic name plate is aligned correctly. It's never been apart that I know of, but if I turn it the other direction the cable end / housing has plenty of room inside the cluster housing. Hope I explained well enough.
