I have some questions about the 1963 battery hold down stud & battery shield.
First;
1963 Battery Shield;
I have what I believe to be the original shield and hold down for a non-air car.
I purchased NOS replacements and they came in two pieces the top and side.
I had to bring them to a sheet metal shop and have them spot welded together.
After I did this I noticed the NOS part had a hole in the shield for the cable retention that was added later.
When was the cable retention added? I have a December 21 1962 car. Am I correct in assuming it was after that?
Is this hole typically judged?
Second;
1963 battery hold down stud.
This might be more of a reminder than a question.
I notice some of the NOS parts are threaded from both sides with the center of the stud having no threads.

What I believe is a NOS correct early style bolt/stud;

The aftermarket part.
5/16" - 18X 10 1/4" IN LENGTH

The aftermarket part I purchased wasn't threaded the correct amount on each side but was the correct length.
I understand NOS doesn't make it correct.
This is likely a good example as the NOS part would be correct but only if you pick the correct one.
The aftermarket vendor included a nut for retaining the stud at the bottom.
Should this be a standard zinc plated nut like the one they sent?
Be careful out there.
