What is this small bowtie emblem from?

I'm putting my 66 coupe back together, so I have recently installed the dash, eyebrows, cluster, radio etc. Last week I was finishing with the front carpet and was cleaning the floor board area before carpet and found a small bowtie emblem (picture attached).

I have now idea where it came from, didn't see anything like it when I was taking the car apart. It seems to be plastic and is gold colored on both sides. No apparent adhesive on either side.

Anyone know what this is or where it came from?

    Thanks,

    Don

Maybe one of your "buddies" tossed it in there to confuse you when you were finished....LOL. Have no idea.

That is a very special emblem that only goes on GM SO cars. You may super glue it on the dash above the clock to distinguish it from all the other original blue/blue former red 66 Corvettes available to NCRS owners. You should get an invitation to Bloomington Gold to display it in the Special Collection.

I guess I could then claim my car was a COPO car! But since I can't show emblem is original, then that wouldn't work.

I just don't have clue where it came from.

Looks home made too me. GM didn't start using gold in the bowtie until the 90's

Just a wild guess here, related to where you found it: Perhaps it was attached to either a GM or aftermarket floor mat, and came loose?
