I am making final preparations to drop the body back on my 69 L46.
When I removed the body (which hadn't been off since mfg) I found insulation between the frame and bird cage. I since found out that was normal and have bought replacements. In looking at the AIM and various catalogs, the pictures show a fold at the top of the insulation, then folded in two with part on top of the frame and the other part on the outside of the frame. Attached are pics of what I took off the car. Looks to me like they were just laid on the frame rail and then masking taped around the frame to hold in place. I plan to replicate what I found when taking it apart unless there is a reason to do it differently, even if the AIM shows something a little different.
I know it can't be seen once it is assembled, but I have tried to make even the unseen things correct. Do you have any specific knowledge on this that can help? Perhaps I am making more of this than necessary?
Thanks much,
Rich
