Is there any chance that this tachometer with the rubber date stamp of 2522 (see photo) is the original tach for my 2/8/65 built 65? The dating systems are sometimes a bit cryptic. Maybe the 22 is the 22nd

Re: 65 tachometer date stamp
Dan,
When tachs or speedometers are rebuilt more than likely the frame has to be replaced because of bearing wear! So the reproduction or replacement frame will have no numbers. If you request that the frame is used with that number, only the bearing will be replaced and the number will be saved.

Re: 65 tachometer date stamp
Thanks JR. Since it sounds like that stamp isn't critical, I'll send this one off the be rebuilt so that I'll have it ready to replace the current tach which doesn't work properly either. Do you or others have a prefered vendor for rebuilding? I've seen a few listed in Driveline.- Top
