1965 Covette with new head light motors. When I push the switch to get the headlight buckets to turn nothing happens. They were working at the beginnning of the summer. Car has not be driven and now they do not work. Where should I start?

Re: 1965 headlights buckets not working
Bob, take and unplug one of the motors and take a test light and check for power on both terminals while someone pushes the switch in bothe directions. if you have power, head to the ground wire on Radiator support I believe that's where it gets it's main ground, along with the ones on the motors.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 1965 headlights buckets not working
Agree with Ed. I had something similar happen to me about 5 years ago. Turned out to be a loose plug on one of the two firewall electrical block connectors. If the clips don't hold and the plugs pull out just a small bit it can cut off the power to both motors in both directions.
Plugs are on the firewall, driver's side, just beneath the master cylinder. Can't remember which plug it was (inboard or outboard), but only one plug is needed to take out power to both motors in both directions. These plugs also affect other electrical functions as well, as they have multiple pins (8).......so you can lose one circuit or all eight circuits depending on how loose the plug is.
