It's been 11 years now that I completed a body-off restoration of my '59. I've done the show circuit and completed awards in a NCRS Top Flight, a Bloomington Gold and a Triple Crown. Now I'm ready to drive the crap out of it!
I recently signed up for a Route 66 Tour Motor Tour (October 2nd through October 16th)....The tour begins in Joliet, Illinois and ends 2 weeks later in Santa Monica. The tour is being led by Craig Parrish from Leslie, Michigan (other Tour leaders include Jim Ross, John Weiss, Rich Dinkela and Nick Gerlich....some of whom you may be familiar with....all of whom have extensive Route 66 experience)
The good part about this tour is that each car is on their own.....other than meeting at 14 designated spots along the way at a specific time each day in the mornings, to receive the day's agenda and tour activities (ie: meet at Joliet, Litchfield, Lebanon, Joplin, Tulsa, Shamrock, Amarillo, Tucumcari, Albuquerque, Gallup, Winslow, Kingman, Barstow and Santa Monica. There will be no convoying.....unless you so desire. The cost is $66 for the entire tour (which includes a T-shirt and an event window sticker) This is NOT a Corvette only tour.....what you bring is what you drive
You can sign up on Craig's website www.route66motortour.com Or call Craig directly at 517-881-2329....He says there are plenty of spots left to fill.....
So...if you're so inclined....October 2nd is just two weeks away.....bring it on!!!
