    '64 hubcap original part number

Does anyone know what the part number was for an original '64 hubcap?? I just picked up a '64 and swapped out the hubcaps & wheels for bolt-on knockoffs. PO stated they came with the car. See pics of hubcaps. I saw a post for this same part number, stating it was in the AIM Manual, but confusing posts followed.

Is this number for the spinner only?? or for the entire hubcap??

    Thanks, New C2 owner!

GM #3843387 was the part number for the ornament ("spinner") component of the wheel cover assembly for 1964 Corvettes. The complete wheel cover assembly was GM #3843538.

It's likely nowhere to be found on the wheel cover.

Perhaps, you could deduce that if it has the original spinner on the hubcap, that one would surmise that it's the original hubcap. One could take an original spinner and put it on a repro hubcap, but why would you?? If the hubcap was trashed, then the spinner would be also. How do the judges handle that type of call??

The ornament ("spinner") was available separately in SERVICE. So, it's possible that one might obtain an NOS set of ornaments and subsequently install them on reproduction wheel covers in order that at least part of the assembly is GM. However, I don't doubt that the wheel cover assembly pictured is an original.
