    Frame blasting

I'm using an Eastwood media blaster on my frame and it's tedious and very time consuming. My compressor doesn't seem to keep up. What's a good compressor rating for blast work?

    Hi Justin.

We use a 100 cfm compressor (tow behind model) with a 2-1/2 sack clemco blast pot with #4 sand. My entire frame (59) only took 45 minutes to blast. Our unit has the 2" bullhose and we have to use a hood with an air dryer (air filter for breathing air) so we dont breathe in the toxic dust from the sand which causes silicosis.

I have also used the 100 cfm with a regulator and regular air line at 85-90 psi with a soda blasting pot (purchased at harbor freight) for soda blasting my body. It also works like a charm with this configuration.

Good luck with sandblasting your frame and working on your corvette.

Sounds practical. Can you stop by and blast my frame for me?
