In a barracks in Seoul Korea in August '64 with a 110 days left when 8th Army went on alert because of the Gulf of Tonkin incident (or not?). LBJ
was not on my list of "favorite" presidents that night. Four months later, I had my first Corvette, Daytona Blue/Blue SWC, #20350. Turned out to be a disease.

served 3 years active duty,1968-1971 in the u.s. army,sent over the pond for a year (light weapons infantry).ets in sept 1971.Last duty in Germany with hq 1st 509th pir,8th inf div.bruce crookham(14105)

US ARMY Drafted 1968. You need to add a former VP & countless congressmen's sons even when they were not taking any more in.

Six years, US Navy during Vietnam conflict, 66 to 68, 72 to 77, bought 1st Corvette 1976. GI Bill from 1st two years got me a degree and a commission for the last 4, and a pay raise!

Army, Ordnance Corps, Mar 1969 - Sept 1997. First 'Vette acquired Aug 2014, '64 Daytona Blue L76 convertible - worth the wait.

USAF Spl Ops, USAFR, then OGA beginning in '70. I know Reserves, Guard, and civilians who also went to VN and didn't come back, as they do today and did in previous wars. Too often we forget about the USCG that also went. Thanks to all.
