I just read an article in Hemmings about mid 70"s NY auto show. There was a picture of 1974 coupes with mid year rear deck and window grafted onto them. They were from Hory Chevrolet Larchmont NY. Does any one know if any of these still exist? They look real functional.

Re: Hory Chevrolet
I think the C3 has been bastardize more then any other Corvette in history. There were cars converted into station wagons and even modified into 4 door sedans.
Your taking about a brand new car modified I assume? They might still be some around I think they end up being kind of novelties but probably worth a lot less than if they were just left alone.
The 4 door does look like it's well done at least from a distance. Not really my "Cup of tea" though.
These vintage photos probably from the late 70's show an interesting modified midyear complete with N89's.It looks like they stretched the chassis. I'm sure its now history.

Re: Hory Chevrolet
I'm sure that back in the 70's most of you saw the Corvettes that Ralph Eckler of Eckler's Corvettes in Florida produced!!! They were tasteful and stunning pieces. Most believe that Ralph's creations caused Chevrolet to introduce the body style for 1978! They should have just hired Ralph Eckler instead!!!!!!

Re: Hory Chevrolet
Hory Chevrolet was also responsible for ordering a batch of black Corvettes in 1973, I believe that they had to order 50 of them and they were definitely painted at the factory even though black was not available in 1973- Top

Re: Hory Chevrolet
Just an fyi confirming that Hory Chevrolet Larchmont, NY is long gone. It closed early 90's maybe ? It was a Fiat dealer until very recently and then the building was renovated. Not sure what it is now...mitsubishi maybe ?. Larchmont is an upscale neighborhood just north of NYC.- Top

Re: Hory Chevrolet
Hory Chevrolet modified a batch of 1975 Corvettes andmade them into hatchbacks/fastbacks. They displayed 3 of them at the NewYork Auto Show. The mods were the brainchild of Hory Chevrolet salesmanBill Kolb. The modified Corvettes sold for over $10,000 each. No word onhow many were sold.
