    Felt Gasket on Battery Post / 65' Corvette, 327

    The NCRS Guide says the "felt pad" on the positive post of the battery has a "red, oil like substance to prevent corrosion" I have the grey felt pad, what was it dipped or sprayed with to get the "red oil" look ??
    Was it a bright red pad or did it appear "Tinted" ie: dipped in transmission fluid.(only an example)
