    1962 seat covers

RECENTLY I HAD SEATS PROFESSIONALY RECOVERED AFTER RESTORING THE FRAMES.I ALSO HAD NEW SEAT BOTTOM SPRINGS AND ALL NEW FOAM INSTALLED. THE RESULTS WERE GREAT. HOWERER, I HAVE HAD DIFFICULTY INSTALLING THE SEAT BACKS TO THE SEAT BOTTOMS BECAUSE OF THE VINYL MATERIAL THAT OVERLAPS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT BACK. ONE OPINION SAID THAT THE MATERIAL GOES OUTSIDE OF THE SEAT BOTTOM BRACKET .IF I WERE TO WRAP THE VINYL AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE SEAT BOTTOM BRACKET, IT REQUIRES AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF STRETCHING OF THE MATERIAL TO PULL IT OVER THE OUTSIDE OF THE BRACKET IT CONCERNS ME THAT THE MATERIAL MAY EVENTUALLY TEAR. THE OTHER OPTION IS TO WRAP THE VINYL AROUND THE TUBULAR FRAME OF THE SEAT BACK SO THAT THE MATERIAL FITS ON THE INNER SIDE OF THE SEAT BOTTOM BRACKET. THIS THEN REQUIRES PUNCHING A HOLE IN THE MATERIAL FOR THE UPPER BOLT (TWO ON EACH SIDE) TO GO THRU THE SEAT BOTTOM BRACKET INTO THE SEAT BACK TUBULAR FRAME. QUESTION: WHAT IS THE CORRECT METHOD FOR ATTATCHING THE SEAT BACKS TO THE SEAT BOTTOMS AS FAR AS POSITION OF THE VINYL, OUTSIDE OR INSIDE OF THE SEAT BOTTOM BRACKET?
