    "Perfect" Fake Documents???

It is such a shame that this is going on in our hobby today. Check ebay # 4644846258

See his other auctions as well. Are we going to have to resort to carbon dating to verify original documents?

    Re: "Perfect" Fake Documents???

Better question would be + what are they NOT reproducing , any thing that need stamping, broaching, casting numbers , trim tag ,any paper work you need you can BUY!
What does that say about any Corvette NOW? If I saw a Corvette with every possible paper documentation , number correct , low mileage the first thing I think of is a Bogus Corvette.
Gee! if you have a real Corvette but no paper work no one will even look at it. I KNOWN!

Maybe we'll start an LLC, get a fund going, and make a group purchase?

Funny how the seller says they are for "novelty and personal use only, not for reselling cars" yet they cost $180 and bidders ID's are kept private.

"will you refrain from bringing the topic up again"

Cant help it when any one can make up what ever they wont and make top flight or Bloomington gold. It bothers me that so many people are getting taken by all this reproing but not you and many other it seams. Now I say that with great respect to you because your one of the older members and I don't mean to put you down. Just think ! Years down the road when were gone "real Corvettes will also be gone" With best regards always to you!

There's nothing funny about this subject.

Anyone who participates in buying or selling "aged" documentation is a scumbag.

By that, I certainly mean all offense in the world to the seller in this auction. Rot in hell.

Let me add to the list....

other eBay scumbag sellers who have:

the reproduction "NOS Delco" dual window caps that are actually distorted modern parts made in Canada. (Where are all the scumbag trial lawyers when they could do some good for once?)

the "NOS" '63 4-speed shifter boots that are still available from GM for $7.

"No Reserve" and "Private" auctions that are jacked up by shill bidders.

These guys can go to hell too.

How about the opposite end of the spectrum

where we have sellers who TRY to discourage buyers based on the factual description? I still laugh when I think of that description (wasn't that you?) basically that said "why would you buy this POS?".

Can't wait to see all the cars at B-J next year with "original" documentation.

Scotty, beam me the hell out of here.........

                          Here's my guess.

This scumbag is an NCRS member and he's reading this thread. If you are, I've got some questions for you.

Why would you ***** out like this if you really care about old Corvettes? Are you so morally bankrupt that you'd do absolutely anything for a little money? Most porn stars and even some lawyers have a lower limit. What about you?

If you're actually proud of what you're doing, I'm sure you'll quickly respond under your real name. I'll assume you're just content to hide in the sewer if you don't.

WOW. Jerry, don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel. I agree with everything you say. Unfortunately, with the amount of money that can be made by faking rare cars and the low-lifes that are now in the hobby for just that purpose, morals and loyalty to the hobby are what's really going to end up being rare. The vast majority of NCRS members have both morality and loyalty but we're being infiltrated by these scum-bags. Nothing we can do about it.

                              Would this work?

Hit the "Buy it Now", get his name and address, then withdraw your bid?

                              Ebay needs an Ethics Committee.
