    73 vert painting

I have visited with a restoration shop about repainting my 73 and I recd'd a response that I find confusing. The shop says they just block the car down and then paint with good results. Does this sound reasonable? The only time they scrape down to gel coat is when there is considerable cracking or other damage. You suggestions would be appreciated. thanks tom

I'm not sure what your question is. BTW- there is no gel coat on '73s to scrape down to.

      Mike:

I now think the restorer was talking about painting on paint. In other words merely sanding the existing paint then a primer. Is this acceptable if the existing paint just has some chips? thanks tom
