I have often seen the '68-'70 distributor shieldings (box and lid) both original and reproduction. I'm told that the grounding tab in the front is in the up position for small blocks and down for big blocks. Many of these boxes I've seen don't have the tabs and when they do they appear riveted on. I got a nice, original box and lid off eBay and I had it flash chromed but noticed that the tab that was on it wasn't there anymore but was when I received it. I found it later and discovered it clipped on, 'S' clip style, and could be reversed. Rather than flat it it cupped on the end where the serrated teeth are. And it wasn't chromed but appeared to have been gold anodized at one time. This is the first one I had seen like that. Were these original to the shieldings?
Thanks,
Scott
