    SOFT WEATHERSTRIP ????

I just put my OEM style weathersrip back on my 65s doors. They close hard now. I have heard of a "soft" weatherstrip. Anybody use it? Does it work? Who is supplier? What do judges think of it? Jerry

    Re: SOFT WEATHERSTRIP ????

the repo W/S being peddled about 10 years ago was much firmer than originals and made for slamming the door a requiement. the A/S i got from Jay Price a couple years ago was soft as originals and had the solid 3" piece at the top rear corner of the coupe door as per the originals. would bet the A/S you're using is old stock repo. mike

same here i bought some weatherstrip nos for the doors and hatch for a 69 and very firm compared to aftermarket , you will probably find that difficult to shut at first and if fit of doors are good , the rubbers will compress with a short period of time and a warm climate change , . dont be concerned , i have fit many original door weatherstrips on GMs and a good slam at first , dont despair, i have had similar concerns in the past.

            CORVETTE RUBBER CO>

I got my "Soft" Weatherstrip kit from Corvette Rubber. Pleased with the fit and doors shut good. Haven't had the car judged yet. But I am happy with the product.

                Re: CORVETTE RUBBER CO>

I think that you should not have any problems with C-2 or C-3 weatherstrip from Corvette Rubber. I do not speak C-1 fluently so I cannot address that. I sold his rubber for about 15 years with no complaints.
