    Instrument cluster gauge testing

I have pulled the instrument cluster to fix some wiring problems. The car is a 66 convertible that has never been in running condition since I purchased the car 3 years ago. I have no idea which gauges function properly but would like to test or determine which of the gauges are okay. I have tested the speedometer and tachometer but don't know the status of the others. Is there a way to test each of the gauges (water temp, ammeter, fuel gauge) now that the cluster is out of the car? I don't want to reassemble everything only to find out that I have to do it all over again to replace a damaged gauge.
