Greetings,I have a white 66 air roadster which at one time at least in 1972 or 73 resided in Flagstaff,Arizona.A couple of years ago i ran an ad in the Driveline and found one gentleman by the name of Puckett who had bought the car out of Flagstaff in 72 or 73.He ran a Corvette shop near Phoenix i believe and also owned a 66 air coupe that was very close in number to the roadster. He could'nt remember who he bought it from or who he sold it to but he did tell me it orginally was a hardtop only car, black vinyl, four speed,posi,radio,300 hp and of course air.He added the convert top and tele as well as power steering. The paint was checked so he repainted it.He kept it until about 81 and then sold it somewhere in Az.The trail goes cold until Jun 94 when i buy it at Bloomington from Mershon's.The Corvette Collection in Plainfield,Ill. sold the car to Mershon's and true to form neither had any info other than a cryptic remark about it's Arizona life and a reference to a Chicago stockbroker owning it.By the way i am going to convert it back to a hardtop only car as a couple of years ago at Bloomington i found a hardtop only decklid for believe or not $50.00!!Alright gang take your gigoka biloba or what ever memory jogger you use and see if we can solve the puzzle.Best Regards,Lou Lapham #24682
