I know that Chevy did not keep any records from St Louis on option combos or on the specific cars.
But I was wondering, would there be a complete listing of VIN numbers produced? I would assume that something like that would have to exist for federal regulations/tracking. It would not mean much for '71 and earlier cars. But for '72 and later, since the engine is coded into the VIN, you could at least get a cound of how many coupes had the L82 or how many convertibles had the 454. With a VIN listing like that we could finally have a count of body types and engines installed.
Not thinking of a listing that would tell you where the car went or was sold to or etc, etc. Just a raw VIN listing.
Any ideas?
